Robb Janov Composer
I have composed/recorded music for film, television and radio productions including Jane Got a Gun (Natalie Portman), Sweetwater (Ed Harris) and KUNM Public Radio.
Many of my compositions are also performed live as a solo, live-looping, one-person band and with a variety of ensembles. Repertoire includes gypsy jazz, funk-fusion, salsa, classical, trance/hypnotic and pop.
I enjoy creating emotive, musical tapestries for listening, video productions, live comedy improv performances and meditation. The creative process of transforming what a director/producer needs for a scene into a musical piece is invigorating and an exciting challenge for me.
Studio projects include Matt Walker (Morrissey, Smashing Pumpkins, Garbage, Filter), award-winning composer Elizabeth Capra (Delphi Project), KUNM Public Radio and others. The recording and video for my piece Bachalypso were chosen as part of the String Instrument Literature at the University of Illinois (Professor Rudolf Haken)
